The story of Oklahoma Christian University has entered a new chapter with the introduction of the Ethos program, and a guest speaker is coming to help shape the plot.

Donald Miller is a New York Times best-selling author and founder of the Storyline Blog. Miller also hosts the Storyline Conference that guides and inspires audiences, primarily youth, to use their Christian spirituality to shape their lives.

Miller used his experience as an author and screenwriter to consult companies about employing the elements of storytelling within their marketing strategies. He now combines that knowledge with his faith to encourage Christians to take risks in their faith and focus on living out their own story.

On Jan. 22, Miller will share his message with the student body, faculty, staff at Oklahoma Christian.

Ethos Director Summer Lashley said she organized the event in the hopes that it will inspire students to take control of their own stories.

“Donald Miller is passionate about helping young adults find purpose and meaning in their lives,” Lashley said. “His lecture this month will be a launching point for people of all ages to solidify what it is they’re looking for in their life and how to go about finding it.”

The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in Hardeman Auditorium. Admission is free but seating is limited, attendees must register online to reserve a seat.
