Oklahoma Christian University’s Student Government Organization did not meet on Wednesday, Feb. 23 due to weather conditions. On Wednesday, March 2, SGA gathered to catch up for the weeks ahead.
The meeting began by discussing funding for printing the Soundings Literary and Visual Arts Journal. The journals are given out to students for free and are printed in April. Soundings fundraises on their own and they have a bake sale coming up.
There was also discussion about funds for the Exploring America trip hosted by Professor of History, Matt McCook. They will be traveling to Washington D.C. and Virginia for a history travel course.
The engineering department’s Baja Introduction competition has been approved for funding by SGA. A team of 11 engineering students is working to build a car by the end of the semester.
The discussion then moved to important upcoming dates including filing for SGA executive positions by March 24. Executive campaigns are scheduled for the week of March 25 and executive elections are on March 31 and April 1.
Class officers will file for positions from April 4-7. Class officer campaigns start April 8 and end April 13. Elections will be held April 14 and 15.
