Intramural Athlete of the Week: October 2-6

Raygan Sinclair

Freshman

Adjusting to campus culture can be a challenge for some freshman, but this has not been the case for Raygan Sinclair. After stepping up for the team to get the win against Iota Kappa Phi, the choice to make her intramural athlete of the week was obvious.

1. What’s the team atmosphere like?

It’s just a lot of fun. I feel like everybody was there to have fun, and that helps us play better.

2. This is your first semester competing in intramurals. What’s it been like having to adjust to the rules and team?

It’s a lot of fun. I love our class and feel really good about our team.

3. What are some things you are looking forward to as you progress through the season and the rest of intramurals?

I really hope we make the playoffs, but otherwise, I’m just here to have some fun.

Javin Smith

Chi Lambda Phi

While the A league is important, the talent in lower leagues should not be ignored. Javin Smith demonstrated this after stepping up for Chi with sets that would make a lot of other A league teams.

1. Talk to me about playing intramural sports in Chi.

It’s great to have a community of guys who play together.

2. What does the team as a whole look like?

Our  team struggles sometimes, it can take us a while to get things going. But once we get organized and our rotation is set, we’re good. We’ve got great hitters.

3. As the season progresses, are there any teams you are looking forward to playing?

I can’t wait to play the freshmen. I’m hoping there will be some good volleys in that game.
