Meet the Spring Sing 2019 Executive Committee

Spring Sing is one of Oklahoma Christian University’s most anticipated events each year, and a team of Spring Sing executives work for months behind the scenes to make the show successful.

Although social service clubs compete against each other to try and take home the Spring Sing title, Jenni Jones, this year’s executive director, worked with producer and student advisor Amanda Watson to select her executive committee members from a wide range of students.

Q. What is your position on the Spring Sing executive committee?

“I organize most of the information to give to all of the clubs’ directors. I make sure each club is up to date on the information they need to know and ensure that each club is doing what it needs to be doing. I do my best to help each set of directors as much as they would like and take some of the stress off of their shoulders. I also try to do whatever Jenni and Amanda need to make their jobs easier. I get to help with a lot of the behind the scenes aspects of Spring Sing.”

Q. What is your favorite thing about Spring Sing?

“Honestly, being able to watch all of the clubs practice and progress over the six weeks has been the best thing. Seeing all of it come together at final approval was so much fun because all of the work the directors had put into their show was seen on stage for the first time, and it was so exciting. It also doesn’t hurt that I get to do this with some of the greatest people and friends.”

Q. What is your favorite thing about Spring Sing?

“My favorite part is how close everyone gets during this time. I have grown so close to Jenni, Reid and Caleb and I am so thankful for all the memories over the past six weeks. It’s also been a lot of fun getting to know all the different clubs and their directors—every club has such a different dynamic, which is so cool to me because it makes everyone unique. It’s really cool getting to see how close club members get to one another during this time as well.”

Q. What is your favorite thing about Spring Sing?

Q. What is your position on the Spring Sing executive committee?

“My position is new this year so it has kind of been a building year for the communications director position. I help the other executives as well as Amanda Watson with things that usually overwhelm them when they have 10,000 other things going. I enjoy being able to help where needed and helping create this new position has been an awesome experience.”

Q. What is your favorite thing about Spring Sing?

“I love the process that goes into it. Starting with a big vision in your head and being able to see that vision come true in such a short amount of time was one of my favorite things as a director. This has been one of the coolest things as an executive director because I am able to see the behind the scenes process of the whole show. This really gives you another level of appreciation for what all actually goes into making Spring Sing what it is.”
